Key Mapping Question - Guild Wars Forums

I was hoping someone could give me some insight on remapping keys, particular the skills 5-8. I'm trying to use Autohotkey to remap those 4 buttons to be Shift 1-4. Unfortunately shift 1-4 activates the chat windows. Is there any way to turn off the shift 1-4 bind for the chat windows?

Thank you. I'm a brand new guild wars player, love the game, but a little frustrated with the controls at the moment.

Under Options/Control, you can assign functions to keys.

Hopefully, that helps. I haven't reassigned any keys for years.

There doesn't seem to be a setting for the chat windows in Options, so the Shift-# function may not be changeable. Maybe you could use Alt-# or Ctrl-# instead.

Using Ctrl-# is also problematic, because Ctrl-# is a combination of target call and using skill #.
I personally didn't chage the key bindings at all since I can press 1-6 comfortably and on 7/8 are skills which I don't need that often (like attunements) so that I can *gasp* click on them anyway.

Thanks all, shame about Control, that would have been my next attempt. I'm comfortable hitting 5, I guess I'll just find some random key accessible to my left hand to trade out for 6-8.

Side question, are there any mods or work arounds for the M2 camera control. The camera control in GW seems slow and a bit jerky (it tries to correct itself too often) compared to every other 3rd person game I've ever played.

I've never had any problems with camera control, but then again, I hold the right mouse button down almost continually, so the camera always points where I want.
